Man in Tights

I am a cosplayer. Or, rather, was. Though I’ve essentially retired from the scene in general, and making/commissioning costumes in particular, there will always be some enthusiasm for it. The extend of my fulfillment these days is Wizard World Philly for a Saturday afternoon. The biggest reason being is it’s an expensive hobby by most standards, and the money I used to pour into it is much better spent on more important things to me at this stage of my life. Cosplay consumed a decade of my life full throttle, and I started to dial it back about 2 years ago when getting engaged happened. Now that that’s over, I want to vacation a lot. And the cost of a flight to England is equivalent to 3 nights in a hotel plus food plus the cost of whatever costume I am sporting. So, yeah, the math doesn’t lie.

I won’t delve into my history or nostalgia of it here, as that would be quite the time suck, but I participated in a Q&A that a cosplayer posted on FB, asking all to fill out. This was probably a year ago I last heard from them, but today I received an email saying that my input was posted to their site. Nothing overly deep or complicated with the queries I responded to, but I did my best to answer as objectively as possible. And to highlight some of my favorite moments over the years.
